Like everything else they do together, the world’s “most identical twins” say their “dream is to be pregnant together at the same time”.
The famous Perth-born twins shower together, use the bathroom at the same time, eat the same amount of food, and share the same fiancé… and bed. So, it’s hardly a surprise that Anna and Lucy DeCinque also want to share their next chapter of motherhood together.
Their alternative lifestyle and glamourous appearance has often put the twins in the spotlight, but they really began sharing their personal lives on a whole new level as stars of the TLC network show Extreme Sisters.
Now 37, both sisters, who describe themselves as “bound to each other,” have been trying to fall pregnant for a couple of years, and opened up about their struggles in the latest episode of the show.
The sisters decided they wanted kids a little later in life with their shared fiancé Ben Byrne, 40.
In season two, episode two titled Wombmates, the twins share their experience with trying to fall pregnant and confess to using baby dolls as a comfort and to practice for their future bundles of joy.
“We’ve decided we want kids now,” they said. “We’ve had some trouble trying to get pregnant, so this (baby dolls) is the next best thing.
“Our dream is to be pregnant together at the same time.”
The sisters say they are “in sync with everything” even ovulation, but admitted on the show it has been hard to fall pregnant at the same time.
“We learnt from the internet that when your temperature goes up you’re ovulating,” Lucy said.
In one part of the episode, the sisters check their temperature, Anna’s thermometer registers first, so she waits for her sister before checking the result and their temperatures both measure 36.8C.
“We’re three degrees up. We are ovulating, we are exactly the same,” they exclaim, before inviting Ben to join them in the room.
The next shot of the girls shows them with their legs up against the wall, to help assist with fertilisation.
The standout duo landed the US reality TV show gig back in 2021.
“We were ready to showcase our love story,” Lucy told PerthNow prior to the show’s debut.
“We are the show to be quite honest, I don’t think there’s anyone more extreme than the two of us.”
It was the first time their partner, who they’ve been with for almost a decade now, appeared on TV to tell his side of the story.
“He was the one who really wanted us to do this show,” Lucy said at the time.
“People were waiting to hear his voice, his views and what it’s like living with two girlfriends. Ben is such a chilled guy, he’s not really like ‘look at me I’ve got two girlfriends’ he just loves us for who we are.”
The sisters are hoping their baby dreams will come true this year.
