- Department of Wonder in Sugar Land | Daily | Ongoing – Step into an immersive mixed-reality fantasy that blurs the boundaries between physical and digital reality. Equal parts theater, arcade, art gallery, theme park, and escape room, the all-ages experience is a collaborative quest that’s hard to put into words. You’ll also find a special 21+ and enhanced experience with cocktails on Friday and Saturday, and a toddler-specific guided play session Thursday and Friday mornings. - 2023 Culture Camp for Kids at Asia Society Texas Center | Monday, June 5 to Friday, June 9 – This week-long camp in the Museum District enlists the help of Indus Arts Council to explore the art, history and language painted and carved upon “jingle trucks” that move through the streets of Pakistan everyday. Kids will paint their own art in the truck art style while learning Urdu vocabulary for the forms and colors. Recommended for ages 9 to 12. $375. 9am to 3pm.
- The Legend of the Lunar Festival at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Tuesday, June 6 | FREE – Based on myths surrounding the origins of Chinese New Year, this collaboration between Express Children’s Theatre and Dance of Asian America tells the tale of an ancient Chinese village struggling to deal with an invading dragon until they finally heed the advice of a wise child. 11am.
- Children’s Storytime at City Place | Thursday, June 8 | FREE – The shopping and dining destination in Spring hosts a Children’s Storytime session, where Princess Ariel will drop by to visit with the kiddos. 5:30pm.
- Sandcastles with Dad at Galveston Arts Center | Friday, June 9 – Bring Dad along for some quality time with a beginner-friendly sandcastle building workshop. Experienced instructor Emerson Schreiner will guide you through the process of building sand castle sculptures, from basic techniques to more advanced designs. All supplies will be provided so bring your creativity and ideas. $50. 4:30pm to 7pm.
- 2023 Lemonade Dash 5K & 10K at Karbach Brewing Co. | Saturday, June 10 – Dash towards a sweet and sour finish at the family-friendly Lemonade Dash, where participants will pound some pavement in 5K, 10K and Kids K lengths. Stick around after the race for a party with food, drink, music and more fun for the whole family. All will receive a Lemonade Dash finisher medal and t-shirt. $20 and up for Kids K, $40 and up for other race lengths. 7:30am.
- Children’s Day Celebration at Czech Center Museum Houston | Saturday, June 10 – The whole family is invited to the Czech Center’s Children’s Day Celebration, featuring a day of activities like yoga sessions for kids, a pizza lunch, Czech language Bingo, a kolache eating contest, scavenger hunt and more.
